NOVAS is committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance and compliance.
NOVAS welcomes the frameworks, standards, guidelines and legislation that governs our work and supports continuous improvement. At NOVAS Governance, Compliance and Oversight are matters that are given the utmost attention.




- NOVAS is registered as an Irish Charity with the Charity Regulator providing support to those at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Our Charity Regulator Number is 20041533. The Revenue Commissioners have allocated us a Charitable Tax Exemption Number of CHY 13390. NOVAS is compliant with the Charities Regulators Code of Governance. NOVAS is also an active member of the Wheel, the umbrella organisation for not-for-profit organisations in Ireland.
- NOVAS is registered as an approved housing body (AHB) with the Approved Housing Body Regulatory Authority (AHBRA) providing social housing to people on local authority housing lists. Our AHB number is AHB-02763. NOVAS operates in compliance with the four AHBRA Standards and participates annually in annual monitoring returns and audits.
- NOVAS is registered with the Companies Registration Office as a Company Limited by Guarantee. Our Company Registration Number is 330018.
- NOVAS honours the intentions of our donors and collects and distributes fundraised monies in compliance with the Charities Institute of Irelands guidelines of best practice for fundraising. NOVAS is an active member of the Charities Institute of Ireland.
- NOVAS participates in an external audit of our financial records each year as well as participating in any audits that are commissioned by funders or regulators. Following the completion of our external audit NOVAS publishes its audited financial statement and directors report each year on this website.
- NOVAS operates a suite of policies, processes, and procedures internally, supported by highly secured systems that enable us to maintain compliance with all legislation in this jurisdiction. We comply with all reporting requirements.
- NOVAS partners with and receives funding from Local Authorities, HSE organisations, TUSLA and other statutory funders to deliver a range of services and housing.
