Disability
NOVAS provides services, support and housing to people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness with sensory, intellectual or physical disabilities, both within dedicated services and in people's own homes.
NOVAS provides dedicated support that is client-centred and reflects the co-occuring needs of many of our clients.



Disability Services
Some 27% of people who are homeless report having a disability. This is double the national average, highlighting the vulnerability of people with disabilities to homelessness and the importance of providing dedicated services for this group of people.
In 2014, NOVAS Brother Russell House, located in Limerick City, won Best Homeless Project at the ISCH Awards, as the only dedicated homeless service for people with disabilities in the country.
Brother Russell House
NOVAS Brother Russell House in Limerick, was specifically designed for people with disabilites who are experiencing homelessness. A purpose-built campus, it provides long-term accommodation in group apartments for clients with sensory, intellectual and physical disabilities. Large, accessible spaces, individual en-suite rooms and specialised care, enable people with a range of disabilities to live fulfilling and enpowered lives in this serivce.


Other Disabilty Services
As well as our flagship disability services, NOVAS also provides small group homes in Limerick, Clare and Kerry for people experiencing homelessness who have a disability. These foster indepdedance, enhace life-skills and promote community integration.
NOVAS also provides community based disability services, supporting clients to live independently in their own homes.
As with all our services, our disability support is client-centred and delivered through the lens of Trauma Informed Practice. The low-threshold nature of our services, enables us to support co-occuring issues of disability, mental health and addiction.
