Homeless Accommodation

Homeless Accommodation

At NOVAS, we believe that people experiencing homelessness deserve safe, high-quality temporary accommodation, as an immediate response to their situation. This is fundamental for rebuilding lives and creating pathways to long-term housing and independent living.

Women's Services

NOVAS provides dedicated temporary accommodation for women experiencing  homelessness. With five services across the Dublin region, we provide 66 women with safe, dignified and client-centred emergency accommodation each night.

Providing female only homeless accommodation is essential to creating a sense of safety and well-being for women experiencing homelessness. Many of the women who access our services have expereinced enduring and complex trauma and domestic, gender or sexual-based violence, so that mixed-gender environments can feel intimidating for some of our clients.

At NOVAS, we recognize the unique challenges homeless women experience and are committed to creating spaces that foster safety, empowerment and respect.

Other homeless services

As well as our female services, NOVAS also provides mix-gender homeless accommodation, for men and women who expereince homelessness and are at risk of rough sleeping. NOVAS provides such accommodation in Limerick, Kerry and Tipperary, meeting the needs of some of the most vulnerable people in our local communities.

NOVAS also provides long-term supported homeless accommodation for clients with enduring needs that require ongoing support.

All NOVAS homeless services are:

  • Rooted in harm reduction and Trauma Informed Practice.
  • Low-threshold in nature.
  • Implement harm-reduction techniques.
  • Support people with complex needs relating to addiction, mental health, social exclusion and generational poverty.
