Disabilities and Mental Health Services.
NOVAS has developed accommodation and support services for people with enduring, life-lasting mental health conditions and sensory, physical and intellectual disabilities. We provide a community model of support with very successful outcomes. Residential, outreach and Housing First support is provided for people that were previously residing in psychiatric wards and other institutional care for long periods of time. We support clients to re-engage in their communities and offer therapeutic care through art, meditation and developing new life skills and socialisation skills.
In Brother Russell House, we provide seven units of accommodation for people with significant mental health issues and a variety of disabilities. All the units of accommodation are universally designed to support the residents’ needs. We also provide a range of supports to people in a group home, in outreach and in Housing First, depending on the degree and type of support provided.
